Weighing Each Raw Material Separately
Welcome to lesson 2, LESSONS You LEARN.
How do you weigh your raw materials before you proceed to the different Phases in formulating? In our early days, Esther our lead Formulator will normally measure all her oil phases together and do the same with her water phase raw materials, Mistakes can be made using this style, so in January 2021 a mistake was avoided by just a Single right decision that our formulator made when measuring the distilled water.
we had some left of the five liters distilled water bottle opened, what was left wasn't enough, we had 600 grams and we needed 1000 for these batch of formulation, So we needed more distilled water we decided to open a new one-liter bottle we got from a new Supplier we were Patronising for the first time and boom what we saw in the bottle was disgusting. ,,,,,,,,
This video 👈 was from a very beautiful day in 2020, while making our Pop of color body Lotion.
We loved and documented very step of it.

Our formulator made a quick judgment call that saved that production. At this point she already measured out from the old bottle and weighed out The glycerin and xanthan gum mixed the water phase, all she needed was to add up the distilled water take the quantity to 1000 grams and she decided to use a different beaker and boom! the new bottle of distilled water had dirt Like Spirogyra in it.
Do you formulate? Can you relate? Are you new to formulation? we at TINS document our Journey for you to learn from So Similar mistakes are not made by you.
