We Made An Akpu Thick Cream
🤣🤣🤣
How did we get here?
That's a good question to ask, how did we get here?
It was the early days of 2021 when we got super excited to make a few cups of Our Yummy Body cream, with the excitement comes some extra butter 😉

Who loves cocoa butter?
We love cocoa butter, it leaves a thick film coat on the skin and a great protective barrier to stop water loss from the skin.
So we got formulating, we measured out our water and oil phases and each of these phases has its thickener but what we didn't anticipate at that point was the amount of butter we wanted to add to the batch.
So somewhere at this point, I guess we just didn't consider butter as also serving the purpose of a thickener as well.
We got both phases to the needed temperature and we brought them together and dived with our Stick blender after a few seconds we realized that this cream of ours was more of a butter than cream.
🤭🤩 you can laugh, you know, it's allowed.
Troubleshooting our cream-turned Body butter.
What would you do? If you were the formulator at this crossroad what will you do?
Consider the entire batch bad?
Take some more water phase and heat to the same temperature and add it to the formation?

HOW OUR FORMULATOR SALVAGED THE SITUATION.
1. She recalculated the batch to see what truly happened.
2. Understanding that the butter was where she got the calculation wrong since she already added other forms of thickeners, what was the right thing to do would be not to use thickeners since the formulation will be having lots of butter.
3. To correct, she wiped the very thick batter into a very fine texture body butter instead of the original thought-output cream.
In your thoughts, what would you have suggested? let's hear how you would remedy the situation.
